It captures the young people’s hopes, dreams, passions, interests, identity and more, while the insightful nature of Nathan’s artwork adds further possibilities for reflection.

Author Bio:

This card set was developed by the True Child and Family Service in Far North Queensland in conjunction with YouthLink Cre8 Kuranda youth workers, XJ Chin and Nikita Joffray, and artist Nathan Mundraby, and with the support of project funding from Perpetual Trust. True Child and Family Service is funded by the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women.

Illustrator Bio:

About the Artist and Photographers – Nathan Mundraby is a descendant of Jabulum Mandingalbay Clan – Yidinji Rainforest People and Lama Lama Tribe – Thaypan Country (Weipa South). Nathan is a 7th generation decedent of a proud Mandingalbay woman and Tablelands Yindinji/Djirrbal man. Nathan has the Djirrbal Indigenous given name of Midin (possum) given by his father’s mother – Dowiti Yarrakali. His Yidinji tribal name is Yabulam (black cane). He was named after a great tribal elder of generations past. Nathan was taught by his grandparents, parents and Aboriginal Elders of the ways of his people through stories, dancing and art. Nathan lives in Yarrabah, Far North Qld, and has toured the globe playing his digeridoo for Hugh Jackman and show-casing his art through the Nomad Two Worlds project.

XJ Chin and Nikita Joffray are co-founders of Nu Paradigm Creative, a small production company focused on creating visual media with a positive impact. Through their love and admiration for young people and their experience in the creative industries, they have been able to combine youth work with film, photography, music and design to inspire and encourage young people.
