Parents in the Korean community

Circle of Security® Parenting™ is a parent-reflection program offering the core components of the evidence-based and internationally acclaimed COS protocol which is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

The group will be facilitated by a registered Circle of Security Trainer.

Workshop Outline:

From the moment children are born they are doing their best to communicate their needs, Circle of Security helps us to understand those needs.

What is known is that behind every one of our behaviours there is a need, sometimes parents find it hard to identify the needs of their children particularly when they are displaying undesirable behaviour, this leads to behaviours escalating as our children become frustrated, sad, unsafe or unheard.

This eight week group focuses on children’s attachment needs and helps us to identify what their particular need may be, in a way that will help to develop a stronger relationship with your child and so giving better support.

The Circle of Security is a relational approach not a behaviour management approach; behaviours will naturally change with the approach as relationships are strengthened.

All eight sessions need to be attended as each session builds on the one prior.

Workshop Outcomes:

Over the 8 weeks you will learn to:

  • Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
  • Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
  • Enhance the development of your child's self- esteem
  • Honour the innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure

You will also have the opportunity to consider your own attachment that was developed during childhood and the impact that this may have on your parenting.

Circle of Security® Parenting™

Circle of Security® Parenting™

Circle of Security® Parenting™ 은 완벽한 부모가 아닌, 충분히 좋은 부모 (good enough parents)가 되시기를 지향합니다.
