Some of the great feedback we received about this event:

  • I really enjoyed the very practical nature of this workshop and actually being able to see how some of these things would go. It was very helpful to go over the theory prior to talking about the activities as we progressed – it was so clear why we would do the activity
  • Dave was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable
  • Fantastic training Dave – Thanks
  • The practical activities!! I’ve never been taught activities to enhance attachment before
  • Dave’s ability to answer specific questions about certain dilemmas that may arise in groups with different demographics (e.g.) foster carers, residential, young women was extremely helpful
  • When returning to work I will discuss with my team about setting up a group specifically for APV – I can see possibility it could prevent certain placements (foster) breaking down
  • Addressing APV has huge potential to disrupt intergenerational transmission of trauma if it is effective (and intergenerational insecure attachment) and big implications for infant mental health work
  • The range of activity ideas will be useful in building rapport between mums and their kids following a DV relationship
  • Great resources / handouts, practical examples and case examples, I appreciated the group discussions / activities.
